The newly released UNAIDS Special Report reminds us that while remarkable progress has been made over the past three decades, the HIV response is under increasing pressure from shrinking funding, growing inequalities, and persistent human rights challenges. Despite these setbacks, ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 remains achievable if governments, communities, development partners, and civil society act together with urgency and purpose.
Community-led organizations continue to be the backbone of HIV prevention, treatment, and care, yet many are struggling to survive due to funding cuts. Protecting these essential services, investing in sustainable domestic financing, and upholding human rights are critical to safeguarding the gains we have made.
Now is the time to renew our collective commitment. Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind and that the vision of an AIDS-free generation becomes a reality. Read the full UNAIDS report below.
